no, i work at a hd truck shop. the car is an 02 fbody.

bad news though... from my previous post it was okay when i dropped off from the back of the cats. i rev'd up to 4k rpm and there was still a small vibration at 1400, but wasnt nearly as bad as before. but the other problem, the hammering, comes through only when driving at 2100+ rpm, any gear. well i went and picked up a magnaflow muffler today before work and put it in after work. the vibration is a little better at 1400, and im not getting the bass reverb through the car anymore, so thats one issue solved.

im still getting the rhmm rhmm rhmm rhmm from the engine, and im still getting the hammering when accelerating above 2000 rpm. so im still at a loss here. i have a vibration dampener on order, but it could still be another month before it shows up.

i replaced plugs on the weekend, iridiums gapped to 0.040". didnt help. i have plug wires to put in this weekend (never been changed, 10 years old now) but im sure that isnt going to help either. im wondering if maybe my alignment is out and im getting too much tire skipping from improper toe causing the hammering, but the power stroke sound im short on ideas for right now.

progress is being made though. as i said the muffler got rid of the bass reverb extreme car shake. im really trying to convince myself it has nothing to do with the torque converter and trans i put in a month ago

got a pm from josh today. basically said sorry for not returning my calls and that he has been slammed doing major work on cars. also added that he will be pulling the transmission out this weekend and his transmission guy will be ready to build the trans, also he needs me to swing by and pay up.

i replied asking about a warranty before he even starts pulling the car apart. who is going to warranty the trans and for how many miles/months. i also requested that he give me a list of parts being replaced simply b/c i want to know and i can keep it with all the paper work in the car. he has yet to answer either of these questions which i have asked twice already. i don't mind paying upfront, but i want to know what i'm getting for my money.

only thing i was told when i dropped the car off was $1100 will get me a trans that will hold 500rwhp..... ummmm assuming $1100 is just the build alone. still skeptical

i cant speak for you're car, but josh said that he noticed the t/c and flex plate wobbling like hell in my car. maybe the guy before me did a couple N drops. who knows. but i noticed it, guys here on the forum agreed and josh also saw it. so i hope thats where the problem is. cause quite honestly i dont know what else it could be other then inside the engine.

    i guess we'll know soon

i put in a 2400 stall and didnt upgrade the cooler. watched the scanner on a highway drive home from work, never broke 96 deg c. not sure how much extra heat a 3200 would make

Sweet! I can't wait to hear about the final result...hopefully it solves your problem!! Also, I'm strongly considering that coverter, so I can't wait to hear your impressions of it.
