Have you tried using a floorjack with a block of wood to lift the engine off the k-member so you could get the bolt in? Or is the car on a lift? If you have the car on a lift, do you have a trans jack to lift the engine off the k-member?

i have the car on jack stands and used a jack to move the engine up and down.. problem is i cant pry the motor over enough to get the bolt lined with the hole.

ideas i got from reading are..

    * back off the 15mm bolts holding the pedestal so it's lose and has some play. i might do that to both sides.

    * unbolt the tq are from the rear end.. for some reasion it might help ease prying on the motor

    * back the passenger 18mm bolt out half way.. that should give it some play

also one thing i thought about doing to put everything back the way i had it last night and use a pry bar to adjust the pedestal to line up the bolts to the k member...

i have to leave out of town tomarrow for a couple days so i have some time to reflect on this, i need to nail this by friday.. i fly out to tx for a week for class!!

    ideas are still welcome.

You could try all three methods and loosen the k-member for additional clearance. Can't hurt.

I would try loosening the pedestal up a little bit.

    damn it...

motor mounts are in, everything is tight. my vibration is worse then before i swaped the mounts. in reality it's just the new mounts are doing it's job, it's just the problem seems worse with the new mounts. and it vibrates like a mother fucker. at like 2000rpms it's pretty bad.

guys i'm lost here.. i need ideas wtf could be wrong here????

it's either the flexplate, balancer, or inside the motor.

the balancer looks fine to me. the motor runs and sounds great. i dont know about the flywheel. i can tell the transmission has been pulled before. is there any possible way it's the wrong fexplate, or installed wrong?

i have plans to build the transmission, add a new stall, and sfi flexplate.

for now i'm fucked, out of ideas, and really pissed over this. please guys send me some ideas.

Was the car ever in an accident or bottomed out? It sounds like something is shifted either engine wise or somewhere under the car.

trans mount seems good. i removed the cross member still bolted to the trans and it seemed fine when i looked at it.

The only thing I am thinking is that possibly:

The exhaust is rubbing somewhere, maybe a tweaked pipe?
The torque arm might be tweaked and hitting the underside of the car
The transmission crossmember could be tweaked possibly lifting the trans upward and contacting the trans hump.
    Possible bent K-member.

i'm not sure on the k member, but nothing is banging around, this is more like somthing is really unballanced big time, but what?

if them motor mounts was'nt such a bitch i would do a 6.0 but there is no way i'm touching them motor mounts ever again.

everything about the car seems fine. all gauges read good. motor sounds great. it's just somthing is causing a bad vibration.

I dunno man. Sounds like something is making contact underneath somewhere. Like possibly the exhaust is up too high rubbing somewhere on the floorboard. Try taking the exhaust hangers down and running the car to see if the vibration is still there.

does it vibrate at 2000 rpm while in Park or Neutral...or only when you're driving? If in Park and Neutral, try disconnecting the torque converter from the engine and reving it up.

with the tq converter unbolted yes it still vibrates.

also i do what to add that i had a flashing cel once a while back. since then i replaced o2's, wires, plugs exc. i do not have any codes but i do unplug the battary when ever i work on it. i do not ever drive the car and thats the reasion i wanted to mention this.

is it possible that the engine is misfiring and not throwing any codes bc i only run it for 10 mins or less at a time since i parked it and started working on it? it has 80k miles on it if that helps. also if it is misfiring how long would it take for the pcm to know it's misfiring?

i can take it down the road if i have to see if the cel pops.

i have a scanner but it's more of a code reader. innova 3160 or 3150

This would be a symptom of a problem with the converter?

Some vibrations are load sensitive, so you have to be driving around to load up the engine a little bit. But if it vibrates without load (just reving it up), then unbolting the torque converter would prove whether its the TC and/or trans causing the vibe or if the vibe is engine related.

guys.. i'm in texas for a week for class but at dinner tonight i was thinking...

so i do not have a cel, i took it down the road couple miles, it's vibrating crazy now with the new mounts, but no cel. i figure it's bad enough that if it was somthing in the electonics the pcm would pick it up.

i'm thinking a spring, lifter, rocker, or push rod at this point. i hate to just throw parts at it.. but checking them should show weather or not i have a problem in that area and would cost me just my time and labor. problem is i have never been that deep into a motor and may not know what i'm looking for other then obvious damage to a part.

let me know if you guys think i'm on the right track... i think i am. i know the car was owned by a teen, he hammered on it hard when we test drove it. so i'm going to say that motor spent some time in the upper rpm's quite a few times.

ok.. so thats what i have for now, as always ideas are welcome..
