Using Firebird power seats in a Camaro
I just bought a really nice '99 Z28. The guy who had it before me replaced the Camaro seats with seats from a 2002 Firebird.
Now I think this is great, the Firebird seat is ever so much better than the Camaro seat I have been exposed to, but I have a small problem.
There's a seat power supply with a 2 wire connector under the driver's seat, but the seat has a 6 pin connector and it doesn't match, so at the moment I have no power to my power seat.
The driver's seat has bottom and rear lumbar supports, perhaps that's what the other two circuits are for. Passenger side has the lumbar support controls also.
The guy who sold it to me said there's somebody in Phoenix (he thinks) who makes an adapter connector.
If someone on here knows about this and where to get this adapter could you let me know?
Post here, or email tom@wildharerc.com.
Help is much appreciated.

I have TA seats in my Camaro also. The seats should have came with a wiring harness. The harness would plug into the factory plug then splice off to both seats. There should be air tubes at run from the driver seat to the pasenger seat also. The air pump for the lumbar on both seats is located on the bottom of the driver seat.

This might work for you but I would talk to a dealership first to make sure the wiring from a 96 would work with a 99.

Yes. I bought a wiring harness from Chevy that has a 6 pin plug and 6 wires coming out with no connector on that end. The guy I bought the car from had already given me the mating connector to get power from the car.
After digging around under there I was able to find a pair of wires in the seat the same color as what came from the car (orange and black). To be sure I had the proper wires without setting anything on fire I tested the seat using those two wires and a small 12V gel-cell battery, and it worked without sparks.
I spliced the two together keeping the colors in sync and it works. I still have 4 more wires that are presumably for the inflator pumps, but I'll try that some other day. Now that I can slide the seat forward there's more room to get in there and look around.
