Up yours Mr. A/C Specialist
I took my car by one of those A/C specialist places and got my R134A checked. It was fine but something hasn't seemed right with the air so he comes and says to me my compressor is bad and it needs to be changed. I said no thanks and that I would come back if I decided it really did need to be done. He gave me the I can't fit you in for another 2 weeks if we don't get started today but I still left wondering how I could come up with $1k to do the work. When I got back to work a coworker tells me to check the fan blower so I decided to pull the blower motor out and look at that, its full of leaves. LOADED full. I dumped it out, put the motor back in and bam my air blows harder and colder than it did before. +1 for the good guys.

I've had a few leaves in mine before making noise. If yours was loaded it was restricting air flow through the vents, and probably causing a little icing of the evaporator.

It's pathetic that people look for the scam/lie/bs for an easy buck. I am glad you had a friend with the right knowledge to keep this guy from getting any money from you.

Its under the passenger side dash. Its further back then where the glove box ends, look for two plastic tabs. Be careful removing them they are pretty fragile. One you get those out look that plastic piece will come out and in the back right corner you will see it sitting there. Looks like a mouse wheel. Mine was filled with trash.

This..
Also under that area is where your BCM (body control module), and a small vaccum block reside.. Becarefull not to damage or over handle the multi colored hoses that come out of the vac block or you may start having accessory setting issues.. The BCM is also a POS from the factory and could begin to act up if overly molested assuming you have not had it out to resolder it yet..Last edited by Smittro; 07-19-2010 at 11:13 AM.

That is why alot of cars get cabin filters. They are designed to block the trash from getting in the blower motah. Idk why our cars didnt get them especially having the large exposed cowls. Hell my wifes lil pontiac vibe gt has a cabin filter

Unless it's raining or REALLY cold, my t-tops are always down and the a/c is off! It'll probably break down from lack of use before breaking from over-use!
