Is the underhood/engine bay paint same as exterior
Just wondering if the underhood/engine bay paint is cleared like the outside? After I did a nice cleanup with simple green I'm starting to wonder if its eaten the clear. it looks almost like a primer white now. Definitely not shiny like it should if there was a clearcoat.

+1 My underhood black is more of a semi-gloss. Certainly looks like it does not have any clearcoat and also seems to be kind of thin in places.

That is correct. The factory put the color coat on but they never sprayed the clear in the engine bay or under the car,,,or in the trunk areas.
Kinda sucks,,,,it sure would make the engine bay easier to clean.

thats great to know thanks guys. i was starting to freak out that the simple green was scrubbed so hard it removed all the clear or some of the finish.
