Tune if you get Offroad Midpipe?

So I was told from a local exhaust shop that if you get an offroad y pipe on a 2002 trans am then you have to get a tune. Can anyone confirm this for me please.

A lot of exhaust set ups leave you with only 2 oxygen sensors (rather than the 4 you leave the factory with), if this is the case with the set up you are considering, than YES, you will need a tune.
Or you might be able to get by using O2 simulators, but I haven't heard the greatest reviews about thier longevity.

if you don't get a tune you'll have a check engine light but that's about it....won't effect how the car runs/drives. Frost does a mail order tune for $125 that'll take care of that plus give you a few more horses under the hood.

Frost updated his prices. The basic LS1 mail order tune is $150. For 1-2 day shipping it was an additional $41. Best $150 I ever spent!

If you haven't had a tune yet, you should def. get one. Especially if automatic.

raise the line pressures (like a shift kit), speed up shifts, and remove torque management on shifts. You'd be surprised at how much better the car feels after just doing those 3 things.
