    transmission mount

i just replaced the transmission and motor mounts. motor mounts went right in easyish swap. the transmission mount however did not line up. the bolt hole for the (cross brace?) was a 1/4 inch to far on the drivers side. i stuck a bar between the trans and body and pryed it over enough to get the bolt in.

im thinking it has to do with the tranny being supported by the jack and it possibly shifted, but just making sure.

any ideas if this would be enough to mess up any of the angles or is all good?

I encountered the same thing.there is no left or right motor mount.I think the new mounts cause the tail shaft to shift.file or drill the holes bigger and use a bigger washer,it wont mess up any thing.

Yeah I agree ^ Since you forced it over and utilized the whole in the factory cross member your angles are going to be fine. The only issue is how hard you pryed and if you tweaked a motor mount or something forcing it over.

I have done quite a few of these over the years and sometimes that just happens due to the way the car is jacked etc..

i would guestimate about 40-50 pounds of force to move the tranmission over enough. think i should go loosen the motor mount bolts a little and retighten em to get rid of any stress that would of been formed from the prying?

Yes that not a bad idea. Loosen the engine and trans mounts then retighten. That should relieve any stress on the mounts.
