Trans Dipstick Stuck or Locked
I cannot get the trans fluid dipstick out of my a4.
No matter which way I flip the locking switch on the end of the dipstick, it will not come out. I've tugged on it pretty hard with no luck... It might come out 1/4" or so... but that's it.
I've actually never checked it before, so it's never been out since I've owned the car.

Is the tube kinked possibly? Can you tell if the lock is disengaging or maybe broken and not releasing?

The tube itself doesn't look like it's kinked at all.
Also it seems like the lock is locking/unlocking as normal. There is resistance when putting it into "lock" mode.

flip the handle up and spray a little wd-40 around it....it'll pop right out.

a little wd-40 won't hurt if it slips down the tube into the trans?

Shouldn't hurt. If ya wanna be safe, take some trans fluid from the stick and rub it on the gasket with your thumb and forefinger.
