But it starts again and I can't get it to act up again luckily not my DD but still very odd
You can get a lot better/cheaper fuel pump for a lot less.

Read the first page of this thread. Some pump info and websites here.

So if its popping like a half-assed backfire thats the pump going out? Cause its been doing that inconsistently for a few weeks. Have to run down a fuel pressure gauge I guess.

Its $800 for the pump and labor to install it. But if it is the pump I'll just wait til the end of winter and do my diff at the same time since its gotta come out anyway.

You don't have to take the diff out to do the fuel pump. Might be easier, but not necessary.

Wow, it is a small world!

As to the fuel pump-I would suspect the fuel filter first.Check in your area for a "Harbor Freight tools" and you can buy a very cheap gauge.

If you have a buddy that has air conditioning gauges ( manifold gauges ), they will screw right on to the fuel rail to check the presure. Or buy the adaptor & guage.

Don't know for sure, but if you screw that A/C gauge onto the fuel pressure check port, you will probably kiss your A/C gauge goodbye. It would work like this for a while, but it's not designed for gasoline.

Just spend 30 bucks or so for a proper pressure checker, for GM port fuel injected models.

I've been using mine for years, with no problems. Detach & hang the hose afterwards to air out. I do have a second set for freon, that stays in my service truck ! LOL !!!

Yay I have internet again!!! Burned up my modem.....anywho found a fuel gauge and it read 64 lbs just by turning the key to on. Then the p.o.s started leaking gas around the fitting and wouldn't seal so I didnt feel real inspired to turn the car on and dump gas all over the motor. Seems plenty high to me but I could just be hopeful.

LOL , No Sarcasm... That is very good. Between 58 - 62 is average. Just wait to see if it acts up again, then check it again. Hope it passed it's kidney stone and keeps running for you. Good Luck

The ignition relay could be going bad. I had the same problem ,where it would start sometimes and not others, and after I changed the Ign. relay it has been fine. This was a few months back and no problems since. Good luck.
