    Unhappy Trans am wont crank!!!

i have a 96 trans am lt1 and in the mornings whenever i leave to go to work sometimes 5:30am, usually only happens whenever it foggy or alot of moisture outside, i go to crank my car and it just turns over forever and wont crank up. So i take my other vehicle and whenver i get off of work in the evening , i get in my trans am and it cranks right up on the first try!! Has anyone ever had this problem before , or know what it could be?

I'm not familiar with the LT1's and opti spark but it sounds like moisture is getting in somewhere. The cap may be cracked or moisture could be getting in around the coil wire.

    Question

yeh thats what i was thinking as well, but i was trying to lean the other way towards the wire and not the optispark, cause its a pain getting too, but i cause i have to face it sometimes. So if my optispark is going bad do u think i should just change the plugs and wires while im at it?

the easiest way to see the opti is when you put it on a lift or get it in the air. its by the water pump
