TR55-IX or TR5-IX plugs
just bought some new plugs, and i think i bought the wrong ones....i told the guy at advanced auto that i needed some tr55-IX spark plugs from ngk, he looked it up, and said that he has them in stock...so i bought them, when i got home i checked them out and the plugs he sold me are the TR5-IX plugs....is there any difference between the two? basically what im asking is are the heat ranges the same, or are they different....i looked up the spark plug applications on ngk.com and it said that the tr5-IX plugs are premium plugs for my car.....just wanted to know if there is any difference, and if the TR5-IX plugs are going to fry my engine....

TR-5 are their iridium plugs while the TR-55 are copper plugs

OP, for the record I've tried both, I currently have a set of the TR5's in now and have a set of TR55 waiting to go back in.
I haven't seen any improvements in power or fuel economy with the TR5's so I'm going back to the TR55's.
Only thing the TR5's gave me was a longer lasting plug.

??? Both plugs are available in copper, platinum and iridium flavors. TR5 and TR55 are both copper plugs, the difference between the two part numbers is the gap (TR5's = .040 and TR55's = .060). If you want the iriduim version of either plug just add "IX" to the part number.

I bought the TR-5 IX(iridium) gap .40 , I called a guy who specializes in LS motors, and ge said that the TR-5 IX plugs are hotter than the TR55 plugs, and after I did some research on both plugs, I found out that they both have same heat range...kinda mad me not want to trust him anymore....
