Blackened fire chicken- 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
it looks great, but be prepared to get fix it tickets...ask me how i know. its legal to have the back window tinted as dark as you want, but any tinting on the front windows is "illegal".

That differs state to state. Some states allow 35% on the front windows. To avoid tickets, talk to an optometrist. I got a medical excuse for my tint and I have no eye "problems". Mine is 5% all around and 50% on the windshield. Would post pictures but my car is pewter

There's a few that show the tint well. Obviously tops were out in one, so it would look darker. I'm sure I have more pictures if needed
And the day I got the car. Just for a "before" pictureLast edited by derekbuckner1; 02-07-2012 at 08:58 PM.

Its not black, but its close to a dark color. This is Texas state legall 25% all around.
I like it, better than non tinted.Last edited by flybird; 02-08-2012 at 09:16 AM.

lol, yeah if you see the cops, just roll the windows down i just got tired of getting the fix it tickets for that, but my front windows were freegin limousine dark, haha...i think 5% might be ok though. you could always ask the the company tinting your windows. i was told by the company that did mine, it was too dark, and i told them to do it anyways...i agree that i like tinted better then not, especially on our black trans ams

This is literally the only picture I have with the windows up.
Here's a shot of the black glass with the windows down.

Are you wanting to do it yourself or have it done?

I agree. The back hatch has to be heated to lay right and I'd you don't know what you're doing, the doors will peel the first time you try to close them. Easily worth the money spent to have a pro do it

Just be careful with how dark you go. Most shops won't allow you to have something installed below the legal limit but if they do, you don't want to go too dark. On my CTS-V, I have 20% on the driver, passenger, and rear windows along 5% on the rear door windows. At night, it is hard to see out of the car at times. I have 35% (Indiana legal limit) on my SS and its just right in my opinion. At the same time my windows are almost always down.

I'll agree with that. My windows have to go down if I want to back up at night. I love the look of it on bright sunny days, so I don't mind it. But that all depends on the driver.
