Throttle by wire/ mech throttle?
I just got a LS1 from an 02 vette to swap into my 88 conquest. I am in need of a wire harness and have been considering the Painless harness (goes for about $760) It says that it is for the drive by wire throttle, and I want to hook up my mech cable. Do I need a new throttle body? Can mine be modified to work? And what are the rpos and cons about either? Sorry for so many questions, I'm just really anxious to drive my car and want to know what to do as far as the wiring.
thanks for any info,
John

what pcm are you using for the engine? If it's out of the vette you'll have to use the drive by wire. If you want a throttle cable you'll have to swap TB's.

Ic. Pcm? Please be very stupid with me as I know hardly anything about these motors. lol. I will look into getting a new throttlebody. Would I still be able to use a painless harness?

pcm= power control module ( computer)
I'm sure you can still use a painless harness for it either way.
