    Thought this was odd.

Ive noticed over the past several months that a blower fan kicks on and off in my 99 TA even when the car hasnt moved for days. At first I thought it was the cooling fan but I sat and waited for it one day while washing her and I discovered its the heater/air conditioning fan thats up in the dash. It comes on for 2-3 seconds and goes off. As I said this is even when the car hasnt been moved. I first noticed it last winter when it was parked in the garage. Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone know what could be wrong?

My battery did die this spring but it was old so I dont know if that killed it or not. Since I put the new battery in its been fine. Couple months now.

Sounds like something wrong if it dosen't stay on for longer than that. Some people wire up a thermo to a relay to vent the car of heat. could be a bad ground but I don't have a wire diagram to look at how the circuits are designed.

I think my car has an electronic evaporator on it. I found out you install these to help keep the ac dry so it doesnt grow mold and stink. Itll cause the blower to come on.

Yeah its called an afterblow module. I've installed a few of these. It runs the blower like you described to dry out the heater/evap case to prevent the musty odors caused by mold/mildew.
