    does anyone have the istructions to modify the ls1 thermostst to a lower temp?

    do you mean to install a 160 degree thermo?

    yes, or anything lower than a factory temp

    thats still using the factory thermostat by adding a spacer or washer

    just get a 160 degree thermostat take like 10 min to put it on...never heard of the spacer and washer thing tho

    werd, just get it straight from SLP. Its not that expensive OR if ur getting the car tuned in the future, u can ask the guy to do it then.

    It can be done by using an 1/8th inch brass ferrule filed down to 0.090", but it easier to get an aftmarket.

    If you can find the spacer, you disassemble the thermostat by compressing the the spring and retainer and giving it a twist. Then put the spacer inside the housing and put the guts back in.

    Better instruction are in Chevy LS1/LS Performance. I bought it at my local parts store.
