    Temp / Gas gauges

So most mornings my temp gauge goes all the way to red and then back down again in the first 10 minutes of driving. Freaked me out the first time it happened... My low coolant light also stays on even though theirs plenty of coolant.

Also, what's with the gas gauge? It shows way past Full and then Full for most of the tank, and then 300 miles later, it quickly goes down to half, quarter and empty in a flash!

Not sure about the gas gauge as mine shows it accurately but the coolant level could be a bad coolant level sensor. If youbreplaced that sensor it should solve the problem. The temperature problem is probably a coolant temp sensor going out, I would try replacing that.

Will gotcha on the water temp gauge, in regards to the fuel level - sounds like the float is getting stuck.

If you're talking about the tank in a 99+, the tank isn't linear so the first half always lasts longer than the last half. I've owned mine since it was new in 2002 and I'd be happy if mine ever came close to 300 miles on a tank. Too much in town driving, too many mods, and my right foot is too heavy for good gas mileage.

The '97 must be non-linear also, as it acts the same way...
