How much power can the factory tranny handle before it needs to be upgraded?

Some say 500-600 depending on how its driven and generally more than that, also thats not including the stock clutch.

Thanks man. My goal is to have 600 RWHP and it will be driven hard. Just wondering if I need to make plans to build that tranny up.

Are you sure thats not just the A4? I thought for sure the T56 could handle more power than the A4? I know the A4 is rated between 450-500hp.
