    T/A doesn't rev past 4500 rpms in 1st & 2nd Gear

    For some reason my 99 Trans Am won't rev past 4500 rpms in first or second gear. It feels just like its hitting the rev limiter. It does go past that rpm in third gear and I would assume it would do so in fourth and fifth. My car has all new AC delco spark plugs, relatively new MSD wires, a new fuel filter and I recently dropped my gas tank and everything's fine in there. I can't think of anything that might cause this. I don't have any SES codes either and the car drives beautifully otherwise. I'm also running a stock MAF that's been recently cleaned and I even swapped out a new MAF and it didn't change anything. I'm probably going to bring it back to my tuner this weekend to see if he can find anything wrong. what do you guys think?

    Is it actually cutting out the fuel like it is hitting the limiter? That is defiantley a tuner error-fire his ass.

    it acts basically like its hitting a rev limiter at 4500 rpms... but only in the first two gears. I'd like to get a fuel pressure gauge to see what happens when I get on it, but I don't have time to order and install one nevermind the affording the cost of buying one. The fuel pressure should be fine tho, unless the computer is cutting it back. I'm going to see my tuner on saturday.

    BUMP! Please help me... My car will be off the road within a month and I'd like to sort this out. what could cause this???

    Take a video of what your talking about.

    I guess you have not taken it to your tuner yet.
