Does anybody know what this code is? I put in a 343 rear end and this code keeps popping up. I've done some reading and couple of places say it's one of my cats that aren't working. Do I have to replace both cats?

it's either your cat or the 02 sensor... did you have your exhaust off at all when you were installing the new rear??? make sure all the 02 sensors are plugged in...

Does anyone know why the abs won't work with this new rear end? I rear ended someone today because only one tire would break and the abs wouldn't work so the tire locked up. It startesd to say abs inoperable from the time I changed my rear end.

    Angry Worst day ever!!

So I changed my rear end to a 373 and the ABS light came on. It says ABS inoperable. So I was driving and had to get on the breaks and only one tire works and it locks up so I end up rear ending someone!! So my question is what happened and is it the sensor on the rear end or something else I have to change and what is it? Please help!!!

I think you need a tune to recalibrate the rear ABS sensors to read the new ratio. I could be wrong though.

Did you change the carrier for the gear swap?

Did you replace the entire rear end or just the gears?

I just chaged my gears. The housing is still the same. I'm confused if its the vehicle speed sensor or something wrong with my set up.

do you have ABS and traction control (ASR) or just ABS? There are 2 different ABS speed sensor setups based on what your car has.

I just have abs. But the new 373 has limited slip. I don't know if that affects it?

yeah it's in there. What I ended up doing was putting in a new differntial on that seemed a little bigger than my previous one. I think it's called "Auburn" or something like that. Well when the rear end was assembled and the shop was testing it, they said that the sensor on the rear end wasn't reading it for some reason, so I just thought the sensor went bad. I changed the sensor and it didn't change anything. My check engine light and ABS INOP light along with my air bag light are all on. I have no idea what it is! All I can think is that it has something to do with the differential. My breaks worked just fine and no lights were on till the gear swap.

There are two different size reluctor gears. One is a little wider so that the sensor can read it and there is a possibility you could be using the wrong one. I didn't know about this either and ended up having ABS issues as well.

Did your ABS not work. It's weird because only one of my tires worked when I hit the breaks and it locked up and I slid. Hopefully that's the issue and I can get it fixed. I'm taking it in this week to see if that's the issue. Thanks for your help.

How are you for certain only one locked up? With no ABS your car will usually slide one way versus staying straight.
Does the ABS light always come on or does it come on after a while of driving?
