sudden engine miss
i drove my baby about 100 or so miles with no problems. suddenly heard what sounded like an exhaust leak then it went away, a few moments later the ses light came on and she started running rough. had her scanned and they told me that she had a missfire on #5. fixed that and no change. please, please someone help!!!

How did you fix it? Is it still showing number 5 as the cylinder? Have you checked the plug boot and all obvious things like that? There are several things it may be. From simple to not so simple.

havn't yet, and i checked all the norm. plug wire ect. i even changed plugs and wires, but no help there. i also check the harness connection and it seemed to be fine. my only other option is to swap coils and see if the miss moves to another cylinder.

Also try using a long screwdriver as a stethescopic and listen to that injector and make sure it's firing. Is it making any sounds at all over there now like a broke valve spring or anything like that?

no strange noises other than the exhaust like sound. other than that it's been pretty smooth.
