Stuff to look for

Howdy folks. New to the forum and after reading up for a bit, I'm beginning to look for a z28 or formula, and was wondering what good and bad I should look for. I formerly had a 95 3.4 and although it was a dog of an engine, it handled pretty well after kyb shocks, h&r springs, and lakewood LCA/adjustable panhard bar. I really loved it, but after 200k miles, it was time to retire it.

I'm probably going to limit my search to 01-02 for the LS6 intake. I haven't decided on t-tops or not as the solid roof cars aren't any stiffer because they were all designed to be t-tops, but I'd definitely check for leaks. Other than plugs/wires, oil in the coolant, and junk in the oil/trans pan, what other problem areas should I check for? I live in C Florida but I'm originally from Chicago, and the rockers were starting to rust on my 95, so I'd look for that as well.

some of the 01-02 models have piston slap and some model like to burn a qt of oil here and there

If You're Looking In Florida I Would Watch For Water Damaged Vehicles For All The Bad Weather Last Year Down South. Other Than That My 2000 With T-tops Never Leaks And Is Rattle Free Still.
