Joh, once you have the new pump and your engine has proper pressure, you'll find all that missing power it once had.
If I had a couple friends over, I'd have them help me do this job. You can take the bed off the truck for easier access to the pump. Have them help lift it or you can lift the driver's side up high to get to the top of the tank. Sounds like a lot of work, but it's way easier than dropping the gas tank, especially if it has more than 1/4 full of fuel.

I'll just add,, any exhaust work done, mods?
If so, check to be sure none of your pipes are too close to any fuel lines.
Any exhaust too close to your fuel lines will heat up your fuel also and give odd ball readings on your guage.

I have custom exhaust.... Its cut off under the cab lol. Ill try the fuel pump and see what happens
