Joh, once you have the new pump and your engine has proper pressure, you'll find all that missing power it once had.

If I had a couple friends over, I'd have them help me do this job. You can take the bed off the truck for easier access to the pump. Have them help lift it or you can lift the driver's side up high to get to the top of the tank. Sounds like a lot of work, but it's way easier than dropping the gas tank, especially if it has more than 1/4 full of fuel.

Crank it and it holds at 41-43 and this time when reving it goes up to 45 at first then drops to around 38 then levels off about 42. Unlike before when it was around 98-100 degrees. The only other difference is before it had a quarter tank of fuel versus now has a half tank. If yall still think.pump then I will change it. The parts house has airtex, ac delco, bosch, and denso brands. Is there a better brand? They all run between 300 and 330 in price
An over pressurized fuel cell/tank can cause the fuel to heat up and or the lines and cause vapor lock to occur..the pressure regulator could be faulty or like cammed goat and orion are saying the pump could be sucking air with the fuel? causing a rise of pressure within the tank?

I'll just add,, any exhaust work done, mods?

If so, check to be sure none of your pipes are too close to any fuel lines.

Any exhaust too close to your fuel lines will heat up your fuel also and give odd ball readings on your guage.
