straight pipes with no muffler?
I have had this set up for a long time,
and I was wondering if that little bit of back pressure
by having a muffler
might make my car run better?

It will increase your low End torque a bit, Straight pipes are good only if your running big cubes, but a little back pressure helps on the low end...

I run the same setup.
