Stock shifter

I just recieved my short stick in the mail, and on the instructions it said that it will not fit without the original hurst base. So my question is will it fit on my stock shifter?

Need more info -you have a short stick from hurst and you want to put it on the stock shifter?Trust me-replace the whole shifter with an aftermarket one-a Hurst one if you want-and then use your shorter stick on it.The stick is only to replace the one that comes with the Hurst shifter-for a shorter throw.I could be wrong on this as I'm not sure I'm following you.
