Medium Blue- 1999 Trans Am
Stock Exhaust
I have a 1999 Trans Am (not a WS6). The previous owner of my car welded some kind of cherry bomb muffler into the stock exhaust. I'd like to go back to a stock exhaust or possibly a similiar stock sounding but better performing upgrade. Where can I find a stock exhaust to purchase? I search and seem to only find aftermarket versions. I am also wondering if there is a difference between the exhaust on a WS6 versus a regular Trans Am?

I have the SLP " Dual/Dual" on my 99 T/A and it is very quiet. Some people say that it is the quietest catback system.
Your best bet to find an original system is to get one used... people are constantly putting on cat back systems.

Is the WS6 exhaust any different than a regular Trans Am exhaust?

Before I bough a catback I just had a flowmaster welded in and new pipes and tips behind the muffler. Just go buy a magnaflow and have the put some new piping and you can keep for tips or get some new ones. Cost me $150 when I had mine done. The magnaflow will be a little more expensive but will sound better and our fairly quite if you get the right model and have the stock manifold and cats. My slp powerflo catback is only a little louder than stock at idle and cruising but louder at WOT but I have long tubes and a ory with factory maniflods and cats it will be quiet as stock with a deeper sound.
