OP, did the car just die on you while driving prompting you to swap pumps? This is sounding like my friend's Caddy STS I will be looking at soon. He was driving his car from NJ to CT and the car died and he had to have his car towed back to his house here in NJ. I will be checking his relays and checking for the whirring/priming sound upon turning the key to "run". Check your crank pos sensor and wiring and let us know.

I am now wondering if there is a clog in the system somewhere. I cannot remember if the T/As have plastic or steel fuel lines as if they were plastic I would say check for any kinks in the lines. It sounds so simple yet it's baffling.

I am perplexed as well. I cant quit grasp why the pump runs, yet there is no pressure? hmm ............does the regulater dump all the pressure and flow BEFORE it hits the fuel rail? My Camaro is a 95, and I believe the regulator is on the back of the left fuel rail, if this is true why would there be no pressure before the filter if the pump runs? Keep me posted FASTZ....

I've run into this before...the car was out of gas. I assume you have gas in the tank, correct?

Could there be too little gas in the tank and the pickup tube could be bent a little too much upward? As if the pickup isn't pulling what little fuel that's in the tank?

I wonder if the fuel pressure regulator has to be upgraded to be useful with the Racetronix unit? Maybe an adjustible FPR?

mine is a stock replacement...carter brand. I plan on looking into it again this weekend. I have to go back to Autozone to get the pressure tester again.

This is very odd. No wiring had to be done to install the pump, right? I could have sworn there was a writeup in GMHTP about a fuel pump and some wiring in order for the pump to function. But I cannot remember if it was for a forced induction project or H/C/I.

Parts store, Jegs, Summit, or our sponsors. If the pump is OE replacement and doesn't need any special fittings/wiring and the lines are fine and not leaking, then I dunno WTF is going on. I could understand if the pump wasn't tightened all the way to the lines or if a line was leaking, but the only thing I can think of is maybe the pump is made to spin opposite than the factory unit, possibly wired backward or isn't getting enough power to spin fast enough to pressurize sufficiently.
