still looking for help with clutch...
Sorry to start a new thread, but I'm not getting any help in the drivetrain section.
What does it mean if I cant get any pressure out of my clutch pedal?
I bleed and I bleed, but nothing happens.

Bad master cylinder I'm guessing.

2000 and earlier had a Clutch Master Cylinder known to fail way early. Mine went south with 42K. 2001 and up had a different P/N and cured the problem it seems. It seems seldom that the Slave does bad.

really weird, once I drilled the holes in my car to do a one man bleed everything was fine.
Pump like 50 times, open the valve, close the valve. Still no pedal until about 30 pumps. Pump an additional 20 + times, got a little pedal pressure, open the valve, etc.
Still doing the original noise/difficulty shifting though.
I'm sure its a bad master cylinder, shes got 84K...

That is exactly how they behave when failing. Mine would be fine one minute and stuck to the floor the next. There have been plently threads on the subject, replace fluid, drill mod, bleed bleed bleed. Most of that is wishful thinking for the most part. They do fail at a higher rate than any other car I have heard of. Like I said after 2000 they realized the later and put in a much better cylinder.

My Z is a 2002, but it does have 84 K on the stock setup.
I might start with the master, and if that doesn't fix it I'll go ahead and do the clutch disc, pressure plate, etc.
Its the differance between trying to come up with $100 or $400. I'm already broke this summer (spent about $2K taking my wife & kids to the coast), so this couldn't have come at a worse time.

I was thinking that 42K ain't that bad- after all these are pretty high performance cars right from stock. Then I read 84K! Sounds great.
If it's the master cyclinder,I think that would be way better than slave as the tranny will have to be pulled.

Also, wouldn't it be easier to follow the tech bulletin on clutch bleeding where you use the mighty vac-there not very expensive?

Mighty Vac...hmmmm.
I eventually got the system to bleed, seems me and my assistant weren't communicating too well.
I'm gonna go ahead and start with the master cylinder (+ drill mod, thank god for install U!), and see where that leaves me.
thanks to everyone who chimed in, your input was invaluable!
