    Steering Column movement?

Has anyone ever had problems with there steering column moving? Mine moves down and to the left, as if the previous owner used it to get in and out and it is driving me nuts! What could the problem be? I haven't had a chance to tear it apart to see what it is, but its obviously internal and I have a feeling a new column is in order, or is it something that can be fixed? I've never heard of this problem on a F-body, so I dunno...Thanks in advance for any help.

I've had a caviler and an s-10 blazer both do it. there was a bolt inside the colum by the universal that came loose. needed to drop the colum, but it wasn't that hard to get to.
don't know if its the same problem you are having but it sounds like it

That is it. Just make sure you take out the bolts and put some loctite on them so you dont have to take it apart again.

Yea, I don't think thats my problem. Mine moves at the tilt portion of the column.

Yes, you have to take off the steering wheel, and everything in the column to get to the bolts. It is a pretty common problem for gm tilt columns from rwd cars.

Pheww..I thought it was just me. SO let us know how to fix it. Pics while you fix it would make for a nice write up and possibly a sticky.

Thanks man! Glad to hear its not to bad. I already have some of the underside of the dash apart from installing the master cylinder, so it shouldn't be to bad.
