Starting New Project (PICS)

Alright I drive a 1998 V6 Firebird. I no someone is going to ask why not just save my money and get a V8 so Ill answer that right now and get it out of the way..It has sentimental value.

Ok on to business. The car is completely stock except for a flowmaster muffler. I got a spare engine for the car which is laying in my garage right now (this is the engine I will be working on). This is my first time doing anything like this so I need your guys help. I don’t want to turn the car into 1000hp beast I just want to make it run like new again with some basic upgrades. I definitely wat to run Nitrous so can you guys tell me what mods are neccesary for running Nitrous. I no I need a cam upgrade if I want to run NOS..anything else????Thanks Guys

How much are you looking to spend? With the engine out any work you want to do now is the time to do it. A cam would be a good choice. Maybe send the heads to get some work too. How many miles on the newer engine?

The engines got 140,000 miles on it. As for how much I plan on spending I'd say $5,000....but if it takes more I got no problem spending the extra cash.

you don't necessarily need a cam upgrade to run NOS.

First off its nitrous... NOS is a brand.Second off cooler plugs and a tune are all you need to be SAFE.. you technically dont even need that but it would be a VERY wise idea. Why in gods name would you need a cam upgrade to run nitrous?
