Great subject and posting. Where else in the world could you get such experienced advice ?
Perhaps near the end of the model run out, different compatible parts were substituted. I recently had a 3:73 r & p installed and was told that the carrier and axles were different in appearance than what they normal see. Mine is a very late production 2002.Magnaflow Quad Tip, Lid, SBellow

If I recall, the Strange rear has a larger hole than stock. When I assisted fellow member LSCyal8r with his Strange S60 install, the factory sensor was too small for the hole in the Strange rear. I believe he got a replacement sensor directly from Strange, but I can't remember at the moment.
