Speed Govenor Trans Am & Camaro

I have a 2002 Trans Am - M6 - WS6 - LS1. My question is: Is there a speed governor limiting the speed to 130 mph. My son has a 1999 Camaro LS1 - M6, same question: Is speed governed.

    Thanks

    05 Wrangler
    00 Z28 sold :-(

Check the sides of the drivers doors and see if your cars came with Z rated tires...if they did then they're not governed.

I have heard that the a4's top out at like 162, whereas the m6's at like 168. I've been to 150 so far in my a4 and no governor yet.

i had the impression from this site that GM governed all their cars to at max 162/163 and lessened it for the ones without the good (z rated) tire package, i've had my speedo a lil past 155 but not to the peg
