Sparkplug wire heat shields
I'm installing Crane Fire Wire plug wires. They claim the boots on their wires resist heat up to 550 degrees. Can I get rid of the stock heat shields so new wires can be an easier install. Also I don't have headers to worry about.

Not familiar with those, but when I did plugs/wires (taylor) I didn't bother putting the stock heat shields on.

on stock manifolds you should be fine. Even with headers it's seldom a problem. My buddy has FLP's on his vette and they kill his plug wires even with 1200 degree shields on them.

Do the heat shield pop right off? What is the process? Pull heat shield, then boot?
