    Spark Plugs

The dealership said it would cost $275 to change the spark plugs on my 99 Trans Am. I'm not about to pay that so i'm just wondering how hard it is to change the plugs and wires on this car. And do I need any special tools to get around in there?

Just get yourself a set of NGK TR55's and do it yourself. www.installuniversity.com has an article - only #8 will give you a problem, but it's doable even from the top with patience - wires are a piece of cake. While you're cussing about what a PITA the passenger side is just think about all the money you're saving. No special tools needed, but a swivel head ratchet comes in handy.

First time I changed mine I did the driver's side one day...then bought some brewskys...then did 2 4 and 6 the next day...and bought more brewskys for #8. Guess my point is take your time and don't worry about doing it all at once.

just changed mine this weekend. it took me a couple of hours, the drivers side is pretty easy, the passenger side was not. number 8 wasn't too bad once i jacked the car up and pulled the starter, dont forget to disconnect the battery if u do it that way, good luck.

I was going to say for the 8th to put it on a rack or jack it up, besides that 1-7 is cake.
