spark plug shot out of head

My spark plug shot out of my 98 camaro z28, now it will not thread, in what can I do, to avoid paying for a new head?

I believe Helicoil makes inserts for spark plugs too

I stripped one of mine while doing LT install, and was able to fix it w/o removing the head. I had a friend of mine ( who works in a shop) bring in a piece that u screw into the the sparkplug slot to re-thread it, worked very well. But, be very careful not to leave any metal shavings in there. It could possibly scratch ur cylinder wall, and although u wouldnt think so this can be very bad. We just stuck an air compressor hose in there to blow it all out, then we manually cranked the cylinder up, using the crank pulley, and shot more air in there just to make sure it was all out.
