Jesus, I hate to sound really newbie-ish, but are you talking about where the wire meets the coil or the plug?

I think I did do this now that you said "q-tip." I was worried if the cotton threads that came off the tip would cause harm to the spark..

    Well, prepare to laugh...

I changed my plugs today...coudlnt find any anti-seeze, so oh well there! Found 2 bottles of di-electric. Figures Id have too much of one thing..

Passenger side was done first. No problems.

Driver side? Not so fucking lucky.. #5's wire metal sleeve broke off and remained on the plug. I managed to get it off.. God dammit. I nigger rigged the metal sleeve back into the boot and re-installed it for now.

#3 was a disaster too. I broke the porcelin on the new plug. Well, it snapped, but it didnt crack all the way down. Either way, its gotta be replaced.

I guess the good thing about this is that both things will be super easy to fix once I get what I need.

Does Thunderracing sell individual wires and plugs?

Plugs can be found locally anywhere they sell plugs.
Get yourself a Crane FireWire set.....less than $50 from Summit.

The grease goes inside the part that goes to the plug ( isn't that what you need to remove to replace the plug? )
    Never pull the wire.....boot only

Heh, I swabed di-electric on both ends. Wasnt much, but I wanted to be sure.

Must I really have to buy an entire set of wires? My mechanic friend said he can make me some wires...but its Sunday and he doesnt exactly work near my house.

Hah, I didnt pull from the wire. I pulled from the boot. Taylor wires...

I do know this particuliar auto shop that has 7 NGKs. (I was going to get them there, but when I found out 1 was missing, I ordered them instead)

Yeah I never saw anyone selling just one wire.
( got us by the short hairs )
Get your freind to make one for you, and it doesn't hurt to have both ends greased.

Do me a favor though.....if I ever ask you to work on my car slug me!

I may just have to slug you cuz heres some more..

I went abd bought one NGK. No individual wires and my friend is unavailable. I figured, eh fuck it, I can do the fucked plug one.

No..coudlnt be easy huh? I pull the BOOT on the plug I am gonna work on and wha-la, the fucking metal part disconnected just like the other one. I didnt even use all the much elbow grease. I looked down to see if I had pulled the right plug. Yeah, there it was cracked and chipped.

    Great. Thats 2 wires.

I go ahead and put the new plug in WITH anti seize. I finger it tight with the spark plug socket on it, then when it got tight I grabbed my socket wrench. Extra carefully turning it and making sure it was turning straight. I didnt get NEAR a "quarter of a turn" and THAT spark plug cracked!

Jesus fucking christ, what the hell is going on?!

Ive done this before..a first time actually. I didnt crack anything nor had any problems! I got to everything from the top, like last time.

When my 'replacements' get here, I can honestly say, for that one plug, I do not know how to go about it differently. Its just too easy to fuck up...yet I am fucking up.

NGK TR55s. They were installed last time too. Theyre highly recommended here.
