White smoke is usually not a good sign. Did you get the car tuned after the cam install?

Can you hear the exhaust leak? An exhaust leak won't produce any excess smoke. Sounds to me that the engine is burning oil. Especially since you said that the whole street was covered in white smoke. Are you sure it was comming from the exhaust and oil wasn't blowing onto the headers or something? Is it still doing this or was it just the one time?

Well it shouldn't be anymore smokier than it was stock. The cam won't have anything to do with the engine burning oil. If the smoke was black than I would say that the tune is a little rich. I would do a compression check.

white smoke = water or coolant
    white blue smoke = oil
black smoke = carbon (rich condition)

If it blows smoke on deceleration, you can be pretty sure you've got a valve seal problem.
