    Smoke coming out exhaust

I have a 98 trans am ws6 with a vortech supercharged LS1. The car is running 9 lbs of boost and runs 10.45 @ 130mph in the quarter. The other day I jumped into the throttle and the car began blowing blue smoke out of the tailpipes. I got the car home. It idled fine but blew blue smoke out the exhaust. There looks to be antifreeze in the oil. There was oil covering the top of the engine. I hope I just blew a head gasket. The car sounds the same no knocking or anything. Any suggestions on what I could have done, or do you think I just blew a head gasket?

You can see bubbles in the radiator with it running most likely if it is.

you also can buy a block tester you pour blue liquid in it and hold it over the radiator spout while its running and will turn yellow if exaughst is coming out the radiator. eighter way if you got antifreeze in the oil sounds like a head gasket. but if you pull the heads off i'd send em out to check for cracks and warping. you'd hate to have to do the job twice.

Anti-freeze in the oil = blown head gasket or cracked head most likely...pull 'em and check 'em. Let us know how it turns out.

I won't be able to check the problem out til next week. How long does it take to pull heads off. Looks like a pretty big job on the Ls1.

I just did push rods/plugs/wires last week and thought it was going to be scary too; not as bad as I thought. Can't help you with the head removal because I have yet to do them, but count on a few hours per side at least.
