you can see how rich the factory tune is on the first graph. 12:1. that's why i saw such a huge gain. because the motor needed more air to offset the fuel.

Would there be a difference between a WS6 style hood compaired to the SLP hood?

not that you could tell. the openings on the SLP hood are smaller dimensionally than the factory WS6 hood.

So your saying I could probably get myself an aftermarket WS6 hood and save a few hundred dollars instead of the SLP hood and see no difference!?!?!

The SLP hood I was talking about is for the Trans Am with two large nostrals instead of the WS6 four

ok the firehawk hood. i like that one better when it comes to clean lines on the car. still i see no difference in overall power. as the hood only becomes effective at speeds.

SLP CAI, lid, K&N and Flowmaster 3" cat-back made a sotp difference, which surprised me....these engines are pretty corked up from the factory, so I would say that the lid is a good first mod.

my only beef is: did anyone else have a problem getting the clips to stay closed (yes, the lid is seated)? was I supposed to remove the tray that the factory filter sat in or modify it? the directions didn't call for any such thing and my clips pop open all the time

    Holy Old Thread!!

As for the lid...you don't have it on all the way. The lip on the slp lid should tuck inside not outside. It's a apain but you have to push it all the way back...and push hard. Here's a few pics...kinda hard to see but look close...the lip on the lid is inside.

Whoever says these lids dont increase performance considerbly are clearly ignorant on the subject. I did alot of research before I bought my lid on which one did the most for the car. I wont sit here and bicker about imaginary numbers and experiences .. I will show you factual information that is published in a major performance magazine so you all can be cleared on it. This isnt directed to everyone about not knowing what youre talking about .. but the ones who dont .. you know who you are

So NO contrary to most peoples opinion SLP lid is not the best MTI is. Which is the one circled.
