    2000 3.8 liter camaro

    SLP Cold Air Installation Question

    Today I installed the SLP cold air, and whisper lid. My cars a v6...when i went to take it out for a test run, and started it...the idle was so rough, and when i went to give it gas, it would just putter? Anybody tell me why?

    Did you put the airflow sensor on right? Check all your electrical connections by where you were working as you might have one thats not connected tight.

    that and if you are still having issues disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes to reset the computer.

    Yeah double check for any unmetered air leaks and that all the sensors are connected. If you disconnected the battery give the PCM a few cycles to relearn the idle. If it was something serious you should be throwing the SES light - if it does post the code.

    maybe you put the maf in facing the wrong direction, and or reset the pcm like stated above. good luck

    concerning putting the MAF sensor back in the wrong direction ... once in the housing does it have to be rotated a certain direction

    if i understood you correctly are you reffering to rotating like a clock? if so then no, as long as the arrow points towards the engine you are okay,

    Sorry, I am reffering to the clip that goes in my airbox lid. Not the screen. I have not messed with the actual MAF.

    Everything these guys say I would check for sure. I would also check the MAF and see if there was any damage to it.There are very thin wires in there,that connect to resisters,if they got broken during the install,that would cause you some problems.
