    SLP Blackwing: Filter?

I just popped open my SLP Blackwing lid and found the stock GM air filter with 2 bugs and a feather lodged in the air filter folds.

I want to know if this is the correct K&N air filter part number I should purchase? One of my first basic mods.

    http://www.lmperformance.com/553/1.html

It's pricey but any other links you guys can offer with reasonable price options? So far LMP has been satisfactory with my orders.

I am performing a Search to see if the K&N filter media impregnated oil will mess with my Mass Airflow Sensor. These blinking advertisements such as Granatelli MAFS make me want to research this further.

    Feedback appreciated!

Screw K&N. 50's technology and doesn't filter worth a damn. Oil on cotton is caveman methodology of air filtration.
    Get with the program man.....

Bias Ply Tires still roll....so "I never had a problem with my Bias Ply Tires" doesn't necessarily mean Bias Ply Tires are the way to go. Same with cotton being all oiled up.
News Flash. Man Made nano fiber technology flows/filters better than your underwear all oiled up and put between a wire mesh.

I have been enlightened! I used to use K&N on my cars but quit awhile back just becasue of cleaning and maintaining them sucks! I have been using just paper ones but I will have to check this amsoil one out...now it does say that it collects alot more, but does that also indicate that it may restrict airflow as well?

    Great air filter!
What about compressed air, is is safe to shoot it with a compressor or will it damage it?

    They recommend low pressure air.

This is from the AMSoil wedsite:

    Cleaning
EaA filters should be cleaned every year or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. Carefully remove the filter from the housing. Clean the housing with a shop towel, being careful not to knock contaminants into the air inlet. Filters can be cleaned by carefully vacuuming the filter media on the dirty side, or by holding the filter with one hand and carefully blowing the filter media at a 45 degree angle on the clean side using low-pressure shop air (15-20 lbs. psi).

I have Verizon, I'm in good hands with Allstate, and I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Are you in good hands?............. That's Allstate's stand.
