    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

funny, i feel the same way; have the same car/setup too, about 102,000 miles.

I'll have some headers and Y installed with a tune by the end of the month; i'll let you know if it helps. I'm thinking a good tune after 7 years of driving is required

come to think of it, a lot of us f-bod owners got a letter saying that the cat's are kinda poopy on the 98-2000 models

did some research and found out this is due to the throttle body cam that gm put on the 00 cars that makes the car rev slower and to reach WOT slower. And realized my moms C5 revs the same way

I wonder why they did that??

Seems the only way to fix it then would be to change the TB cam or swap TB's with an earlier '98-'99 car.

Was there something on the 02 models as well to cause this? Maybe something in the tune? Reason I ask is because since I have had this 02 SS the first thing I noticed is how lazy the engine revs up and down when in neutral. You can blip the throttle fast but the engine is slow to respond.
Almost acts like a lazy timing curve. Car otherwise runs beautiful.

Mine revs fine and its an 02, not quite as quick as a little 4 cylinder or anything but I think that is expected. Underdrive pulley seemed to help a bit.

But, a cam can be any device than transfers rotation to a translation type of movement etc. Dunno if the TB has one on it, I did the carpet mod to let my pedal go all the way down. Never did the bump stop mod though.

Ya but didn't Dave do a tune on yours though? I think there is something in the timing and or fuel tables that makes the engine feel lazy when you rev it up. On the older cars I play with it's generally due to a very lazy timing curve that is not coming in very quick, and partly due to the carburator as well.
I am sure Dave is moving the timing and fuel tables around, hopefully it makes the engine more responsive? Larry.
