This is a discussion on Shift kit / Long tube install within the General Help forums, part of the LSx Technical Help Section category; I'm sure someone mention it but it's worth posting again. I did everything on the top side that I could ...

I did everything on the top side that I could before going under. It gets old going up and down.

just food for thought here but instead of a shift kit you can get pretty much the same results with tuning. Remove torque management, raise the line pressure, and speed up the shift times. Frost could easily do all that mail order for $150.....you're not getting a shift kit installed for that. Not to mention you'd be getting all the tuning for your headers in the process.

He mentioned earlier that really wants a manual valve body
Otherwise changing it in the tune would have been the easier solution

SMW It seems like a hell of a lot of work. I remember seeing a write up awhile ago too but for some reason I can't find it now. Anybody know of any good ones?

Orion, Tatertot pretty much said what I was going to say. The faster times would definitely be a plus, but I'm mainly doing a shift kit install for two reasons (excluding the fact that I can't ever get my hands on a good M6). 1, I want gear control if i'm getting LT's done. from 5 rpm down, it sounds so incredible. 2, Automatic is boring as hell. lol

Here's what I thought about doing. FIrst i would get the LT's installed, because that doesn't require a tune. Than when I get around to the shift kit, I can mail order a tune for both the lt's and S/K. Saves me some time and money

I got lost about 3 pictures in.. wow man. Maybe i'm not cut out for that type of thing.

Reading that gave me a thought though. I'm running on BMR springs right now...will I have more clearance issues with this thing?

I'm surrounded by those things. My work; speedbumps. College; speedbumps. condo; speedbumps. lol it doesn't bother me, going 2mph over the bumps. I just dont want nasty scrapes on the LT's or worse on the big ones...
