Sharp Right Turn = Bad noise + Belt whine

    Hey everyone

I'm having a problem with right turns... I didn't post this in the suspension section because i don't see this being a problem with that, but its getting progressively worse.

Every time i turn right, at 10mph +, it sounds like the front drivers side wheel is rubbing against the well.. or something like that. But after i take that turn, a belt whine begins and its pretty noticeable, and will last for a good 4 minutes or so. But when i turn sharp left, even at high speeds, there is no wheel well scraping sound and the belt whine isn't nearly as bad.

on top of that, after i sharp turn right, it'll sound like the front drivers wheel continues to rub against something when i turn the steering wheel even slightly to the left or to the right for roughly 4 minutes after as well.

Does anybody know what could be going on when i sharp turn right? heres my setup:

    Bilstein shocks
    BMR Springs
    18X9.5 Tires all around

    Any helps appreciated!

Has the car been aligned since the new wheels/tires?
What size tires are you running?
    How is the front end?
    Mileage?

As for your belt whine issue, it sounds like your steering pump is going out. Have you checked your power steering hoses for leaks or being collapsed? Your steering rack could be failing as well. Have the strut mounts ever been replaced? These are all just a few contributing factors. We need more info.

The car has been aligned, by the same shop who put on the wheels/tires, and springs..at the same time i had the springs installed.

    My tires are 18X9.5

What do you mean by how is the front end? If you mean body-wise, there is a dent on the drivers side, kinda by the side yellow rectangle light.. the "Common dent" so I've heard.

It has 40,000 miles on it.

The belt whine only happens when i take that sharp turn, but otherwise its pretty silent.. I haven't checked anything like that yet, but i probably should. I'm not sure about the strut mounts, how can i tell?

Check your power steering fluid level. The level could be low and when you take a RH turn the fluid sloshes away from the pump and it sucks air and whines.

Low PS fluid can be a good sign of a leak also..

Do not forget to check the high pressure hose on full lock.

9 times out of 10, that fluid is going somewhere so for sure check for leaks. if you cant see any visible leaks poke little holes on the shaft boots and see if fluid drips out. that sound to the right can be caused from having low fluid but if you dont see any leaks i say fill it up drive it and keep an eye on it and if it keeps going down id say your rack is gonna be done and get that replaced. keep us updated.

Eureka! I filled it up on fluid and the weird sounds are no more! It takes right turns like a beaut.

As far as any leaks go, ill check the hoses but I'll probably miss something.. I'm definitely going to keep a close eye on the fluid in the next few weeks, so ill keep you All updated if I notice any issues. I appreciate all your help!

yep, always check that PS fluid like once/month, or so, good time to check the oil, brake, coolant, and tire pressure too
