SES codes
ok, i gutted my cat that was giving me troubles and passed inspection because I knew the guy
now i get the code PO420 catalyst efficiency below threshold
this is normal right?
does this mess up my car's performance in any way??

Right, 420 is just a cat code and don't hurt anything. Bank 1 is the drivers side.

Yepp im thinkin its bc you gutted your cats, The rear 02 sensor is pickin up that your "cat is bad" so its throwin a trouble code. Shouldnt run any differently thou.

damn, i only gutted the passenger cat and it says that the driver's cat is the one thats messed up.
Should i go ahead and gut that one too?

Lol thats weird, Why did you only gutt one cat? I would go ahead and gutt the catt and too get rid of the code i would either get it deleted out or pick up some sims too get rid of the light...

That is weird, you'd think it would just throw P0430, maybe it's because you only gutted one???? Gut the other one and get sims or all postcat 02 codes turned off.

im gonna gut the one that is throwing the code but not right now
if i leave it for a while will it cause anything to decrease my performance?
i know i already asked the question but that is when i thought the code was from the one i gutted!! lol

I gutted both of my cats and i kept getting the SES light so i had someone just delete the code completely. No SES light after that

Cat inefficiency codes, regardless of which bank, won't hurt performance if they're gutted.

mystic- 95 LS, yes it says LS
only haveing one gutted wont let bothbanks breath the same. Don't see how it could hurt, but can't be good. I'd gut the other ASAP.
