    Service engine soon code P0420

    Just picked up an OBD2 reader from Harbor Freight. Ran the scan and came back with code P0420 (Catalyist system efficiency below threshold, left bank) Any ideas what this could be? I cleaned out the PCV valve with throttle body cleaner several days ago and wondering if it's possible that this may be the cause. When they say "left bank" is that from the view inside or standing in front of the vehicle.

    P0420 is for bank one ..... this code is basically saying your cat is junk....scrap it and run no cats.or buy a new one
