    2002 camaro

    security light flashing

    the yellow security light is flashing and my 02 camaro will not start or turn over someone said the pass key II system is bad , i tried both of my keys and nothing works , pulled starter and no power is even goig to it. any more ideas????

    have you done any recent mods to your car??? is your battery fully charged???

    it takes about 20 mins for the system to let you try again. If this doesn't work you may need to look into the VATS Bypass mod.

    just a shot in th dark but try blasting some air in the ignition key slot ive heard of that working, have u tried disconnecting the batt.?

    Thanks Jay after I asked the question I found that thread and tried that and it worked for me. I went by the dealership and of course they told me wrong ohm just gave me the key # so went to radioshack and picked up a box of 9.9 and 3.3 ohm res. tried the 9 first didnt work then put in the 3.3 and she purs like a kitten or in her case a big cat. thanks again guys for all your help

    you should ohm out the pellet in your key to make sure you have the correct ohms....the reason I say that is because there will be some variance in the resistors so if you're just borderline you may drift out of range from time to time. Just put an ohm meter on each side of the pellet and that'll tell you real quick what you need.
