I had my car tuned with hp tuners and after an update today my security light is on and the car starts and drives fine. Any idea how to turn the light off or what is wrong? Thanks in advance for the help

The only thing I see in HP Tuners relative to VATS is a single input that tells the PCM if the vehicle is equipped with VATS, and whether it is serial or PWM.

Maybe disconnect your battery for a minute or two and then see what happens.

I will check with my tuner about if that got checked or not. might try the battery disco also. the computer they used to tune couldn't connect for a minute after the light came on also.

It probably does, but HP Tuners is not set up to do anything with the BCM configuration.

right......I'm guessing it's just coincidence and you're looking at a vats bypass.

well found out that my vats was marked as none when they did the tune. However we tried both options for vats and the car wouldn't start so we switched back to none and I will live with the security light as the car starts and runs fine. If anyone has any ideas I am open to what to try next.

I will try the bypass when I get a chance. at least she runs and drives fine other than that light on the dash.

wouldn't matter......turning it off in the tune doesn't really do anything for the f-bodies if memory serves me correctly. Look at the vats bypass thread......it's all spelled out in there pretty good how to do the bypass.....several times over.

yea I have the VATS turned off now in the tune on mine but the security light is still on so that wont help you. only hope is to try the bypass but I haven't had time yet so I cant vouch one way or the other.
