Whoa. I cant believe the TB bypass made it run hotter,Its supposed to do the exact opposite Check to make sure you don't have a coolant leak. I'm sure its not the air lid. This is good to know since I was thinking about doing the Tb bypass. Sorry I cant offer an explanation on why this happened.

The tb bypass mod will not make it run hotter, all it does is bypass the tb, On a stock car it runs through the throttle body to help heat up the incoming air on cold starts.
What mods are done? What temp thermostat do you have? Air in the system?

open the cap ( car cold) and run it a while until the coolant starts circulating and then top off if need be. Also, unless your fans and have been adjusted and you're running a 160 stat I don't think your old temp ran at 160. The stock stat doesn't even open up that low. I know with a 160 stat and my fans adjusted I run in the 170-180 range but some of that is because I have a tranny cooler mounted in front of the radiator.

I was also wondering how his car could be runninng at 160 with the stock thermostat.
Anways, do you notice any differences with the 160 after market thermostat? Is it really worth the trouble? and how difficult is it to install?
