    Rubbing sound from engine bay

    I have 31,000 miles on my 01 ss and from the engine bay for a while now theres a rubbing/sqealing sound. It sounds like my belts, but dont know if they have ever been replaced. does anyone know how to replace them and what belts i should use? please help the sound is really annoying!!

    it sounds like a POS too, its a bit embarrassing driving this type of car with that sound lol.

    When I order belts I always order goodyear belts.

    Do yourself a favor and pop your hood and physically look at your belt. Look for cracking and make sure it's not glazed(shiny on the ribbed side). Also look for fraying on the edges and such. If it's frayed really bad then check all your pulleys for looseness. If all that stuff's good then check your tensioner for good tension.

    Might as well check everything over the first time before you start buying belt after belt, or miss a bad problem and have it turn into an expensive problem.
