    royal purple vs pp

I was going to send in my royal purple to be tested and try pp then send that out. I had heard that pp was cheaper then the 6.99 per quart i've been spending on rp, but then I get to the auto parts store and it's the same price for the pp do I have need to get it at walmart or something or where do you guys find it so cheap.

Royal Purple is complete crap. Even worse at the price they want for it.

Pennzoil Platinum = $5 a quart at Wal-Mart. Buy the 5 quart jug.

I've used royal purple for the last 70,000 miles and haven't had a single problem with it. I've been reading a lot of negative stuff about the UOL rating and also that it shears engine parts. I've heard that PP is the best and it is the best bang for the buck. I think my next oil change will be PP and I won't look back I've put this off for a while and I think I'm convinced now thanks to this site. Also I've heard that PP UOL rating is better than Mobil1 and is much cheaper. Just my $.02

Well PP is $19.99 for 5 quart jug everyday at WalMart...
Here is my issue with Royal Purple.....let the lab speak and not any internet bullshit...

See the 3/25/07 UOA...that is Royal Purple Racing 41....sheared all to hell and look at the wear metals......I about spewed chunks......FYI the most recent is Shaeffers Series 7000 10-30...now that is a great report!
Here is Pennzoil Platinum...same motor and everything.....

The copper is from the big oil cooler we have .....but look at lead/aluminum etc.....

This pretty much sums up PP versus Royal Purple.....I ran PP damn near double mileage and double the fuel dilution and still kicked the wear numbers all to hell with PP...

Yeah ive noticed that the walmart on millitary and 410 has diffrent prices than the one by potranco/1604 but none the less still way cheaper than RP and alot cheaper than Autozone's prices.

have you tried castrol syntec? I fell for their commerical so I'm currently using that oil, but I've noticed its leaking it quicker than it did when I ran PP

royal purple is good, but at 7 dollars a quart gets expensive overtime, but just like sarge showed that PP will perform better at a decent price.

I just read the entire thread and didnt see one person "endorse" anything. Just said they used it and where to buy it Many people buy based on what they read or some commercial....I try and stay lab/facts based. Read the white paper.

Sarge since were on topic about oil, what would you recomend for my diesel truck? I'm running Delvac I think its 25 something, but it gets too loose after its warm. My truck is always under a hard torque load.
